Default HUD - Adjustability

:?: Own a 92 SSEi. HUD does not adjust - to raise or lower the image on the windshield. When I first purhased it (used), I was able to move it slightly upwards - but can no longer get it to move. Has anyone ever had this problem? I can see the display if I was just looking over the dash, but I am 6' 5" - no display.

Suggestions?

This is the first time I've heard of this.....but I've wondered about it. I think there'* a cable in there that moves the projector assembly. You're gonna have to dig for it. This is what you call 'taking one for the team'. When you figure it out, let us know. You'll be the only 'blind' one that way.

Welcome to the Forum! I think you just found the only thing we haven't experienced! The HUD'* are ultra-reliable.

Speed, Turn signals, "Check Gauges," Low Fuel, and Bright Headlamps!

It reflects these green vf images off the special windshield so that the focal point is suspended above the front end of the hood. Way cool. It keeps you from having to look at the speedometer or missing a warning signal.

Newer ones also have the radio station too.

yup, i've seen that ad. many of you have mentioned that your HUD is more accurate than your analog speedo. same with mine. but apparently, pontiac knows this. my manual (not the shop one....the actual pontiac issued "dumb" manual in the glove box) says that the analog speedo will be 3 mph off from the HUD. this is exactly true with my car. weird. why the hay would they create an analog speedo that'* three mph off? duh!

because it can be 3 mph off in either direction. it'* not a precision digital instrument by any means. the HUD and speedo interpret the VSS signal on their own and they just do it a little differently.
