Serpentine belt squealing!!!!!
Ok i finally fixed my bonnie.... The reason the belt was shredding was because the power steering pump had froze so i put a new one on, reinstalled the serpentine belt but now when i turn a corner it makes a very loud squealing noise... Is it because the belt is too tight???

That sounds like a belt too loose. I mean the Bonneville has a self Tensionner pulley. Turning means the pump is working the pump might need more fluid. Is the pulley on right and flush with the other pulley. Did you change the belt? Check for power steering fluid leaks. Also did you bleed the steering system?

yea its on right i know the 3.8 series II better than i know my mama!!!! i had to substitute power steering fluid with transmission fluid cuz i didnt have any psf... but the belt is extra tight and plus i put a brand new belt tensioner on it right when i was replacing the psf.... brand new pressure and return hose, no leaks... when i turn a corner though it is extra extra loud... im scared thats gonna cause the belt to rip or something

and on top of that... the original belt was 94 inches... i had to drop down to 90 5/8"... i dont know why but thats the only size belt that the tensioner is cooperating with

If you can get the belt on and it falls in the arrows the tensioner should be fine. What has me concerned is putting transfuild in for the power steering fluid?
