Default I belive I have found the ELC problem

I work on the ELC today. I have seemed to pinpoint the problem why the ELC dosen't work. The problem lies with the ELC solenoid that is found on the compressor head.

How, should I be able to buy a new solenoid? If so could someone give me a part number or link to it online? If not, how much with the whole bastard unit cost to replace? And do you have and sudgestions where to buy one? Online? Parts store? Dealer?

Thanks

Does anyone know if the front mounted compressor in Johns 1992 SSEi would be the same as the rear mounted compressor in my 1997 SSE parts car? I know the compressor in my parts car works -every time I hook a battery up to the car the compressor kicks in and levels the car.
If it is the same John has a deal available to him from me -how'* $30 + shipping sound (if it comes to the point where you need to replace the pump)?

Stand by. I'm checking compatibility. These typically run 100 bones at the wrecker. I'll post the new AC Delco price too.

Not compatible, and the part numbers changed in a logical year.

John, I've had my compressor assembly apart twice for preventive maintenance. Have you considered something may be seized?

here'* the deal. thats a possibility.

there is power going to the unit when I adjusted the sensor in the rear to simulate a load. But the power that is being sent does not start the ELC. But when I do put power to the ELC manualy the compressor kicks on and starts raising the car. In fact, the car is raised a little above the level position right now. I just left the wire connectors apart. If I hooked them back up the air pressure would be let out. :? :? :?

Missing o-ring between fittings? Seized restrictor valve or pressure valve? A little oil and closer inspection may be the medicine you need on that.

I have a complete air leveling compressor (the one that mounts underhood, under where the air intake duct routes -- this provides air to the rear load leveling struts) from a 1992 LeSabre limited, with the air pressure solenoid. Tested and works. This should be the same part for your application, the LeSabre/Bonnevilles 92-99 used all the same suspension parts. PM me if you still need it. I have the ride height sensor that I pulled from the pass. rear control arm as well (I was planning on converting my 97 to ELC and then ended up getting KYB struts, which were so firm that the ELC w/ OE type rear struts would have been downgrading)
