i know it requieres dropping the tank, then lifting out the unit, replacing it and the strainer, then it should just go back in place and put the tank back, at least that is what i saw when i watched them change mine 4 times on the 94 SSE
only took them about an hour to do, but i was almost on empty when they did it each time so it was alot easier

It'* simple, Requires two people and a set of ramps. I think just about anyone can do it with a Haynes, The hardest part is hooking the fill line back up, I hate that part.

Run the tank as dry as you can, put the car up on the ramps, remove/loosen the tank straps to gain access to the connections on top of the tank. Once all aconnectiopns are off, drop tank to the ground.
Take and clean all the dust dirty whatever **** off the tank, then take a hammer and a big flat head screw driver and hit the tabs on the out side "ring of the fuel. Once that ring is gone....finagle the fuel pump out of the tanks.....clean up the edges....install new pump assembly.....reinstall the tank the same way it came down.

Not hard to do. I just did it on my 99 3 weeks ago or so...
I jacked my car up and put it on jack stands...I found the ramps to be too bulky.
The other thing that I used that was a huge help was a transmission jack. I did the job myself. Even with two people, use that transmission jack. You can't beat it.
