Rattle
I'm new to BC and didnt plan on bothering anybody but my 96 Bonneville that I will be recieving as my 16th birthday present has a rattle. It happens when the car is not running and you shut the front doors. It occasionally happens when the car is going and you hit a small bump. My first thought was maybe the grill because I hit a deer the first week I had my license and it cracked it were it mounts to the hood but I can hold it still and it still makes the same noise???? I really need help I love the car and I have only seen one other the same color and I really dont want to lose any part of it!

Members aren't a bother...that'* the main reason this forum exists - to help each other out. Can you be more descriptive of the rattle? As you mentioned the grill, is it in the front of the car? If you open the hood, is it louder? Does it sound like a metal rattle, or plastic?

Like Archon says, were here to bother (or at least HE is)
Along the lines of his questioning, try to give us a better idea of where on the car the rattle is coming from. You'll probably find that, as you have a friend or someone help you locate the rattle better, you'll find it yourself. But if not, at least you'll have more info to help us help you (does anyone remember where that came from?).
Have you tried listening under the car for the rattle? (I.E. exhaust, linkage, etc.)
Or carefully listen at the doors themselves?

There are hood stops that can be adjusted.
Also, if you look at the picture posted above...see that little rubber spring condom on the end of the spring? If that'* missing, you can get noise from it too.

I went out tonight and noticed that it did sound more plastic when I closed the hood and this would be no big deal if it was the grill and I had a normal colored car but seein as Ive only seen one that was the same color as mine I dont think the junk yard is gonna have one that will match :(

it is a 96 and is this weird light teal metallic color. it is less of a blue than the blue ice metallic ones from 2000+ like I said i have only seen one other and it was in madison and was a SSE or SSEi. I dont think it is the supports but it could be the grill from the dumb deer, it isnt flush with where it meets the hood on the passengers side anymore. thank god it was a Pontiac was going 60 and it was a smaller deer but only cracked the grill were you dont see it
