Me again. Coolant leak.
So my fuel problem is fixed, but while testing the pressure the last time I noticed fluid pooled in that small bowl like area under the FPR and next to the thermostat housing. It is coolant. It would be as simple as the t-stat housing leaking, but I doubt it. I snugged it up a little anyway. Does the UIM generally start to leak in any particular place or is one spot as likely as another? I hope that isn't the problem, but I feel I've been on borrowed time with that POS composite intake for some time.

It'* likely your upper intake manifold beginning to fail. Have you ever replaced it?
There are threads all over here regarding the procedure to fix it. Word to the wise....replace your lower intake manifold gaskets when you do the job.

I agree with Mark...it wasn't that long ago someone was posting the same leak location and it was the upper intake gasket. Not a bad manifold but a failed gasket only.

Well, an external coolant leak at the UIM isn't as critical as internal, but none the less needs to be addressed. How many miles on the engine?

It has never been replaced and the motor is just about to roll the 190,000 mile mark. I seem to recall hearing there was upgraded design out for this part, with more heavily reinforced seals and fluid passages. Are these for real or would I be chasing a unicorn by looking for one?
