How good (or bad) were the 92'*.....Worth paying $1800???
I found a White '92 SE with no options, real basic, always garaged, 2 owners.
Not a bubble but, It does have a spoiler.
True Family Car its whole life, Family has 6 kids now so they need a bigger ride I guess.
EGRLESS
142,000 Miles
$1800
OH also does anyone know if those SSE/SSEi Dark Lined Tail Lights will swap with the normal ones?
Other than EGR Problems in 92 how was everything else?
I know it was the first year they used the L engine and Electronic transmision correct me if I am wrong, so that worries me to no end. (knowing GM)
Transmission good in 92?
Rest of engine like intake manifold and exhaust manifolds OK?
Thanks MUCH!

The 92s have the same transmission as the 93s. Should be no issues there.
I don't know about the engine and electronics differences to speak accurately. But, I think the price is a little high. Check KBB or NADA. Keep in mind that it is almost 13 years old! Use the age to your advantage to get the price down.

I am sure I can get the price down if I pull out 15 bills.
I wanted an SSE, but they are really rare around here, I have yet to see ONE anywhere in Idaho that is not beat up.
But this EGR thing and everything I have read sounds like a serious issue, considering I do not beat up my cars, but I dont drive them like a grandma either.
also what about the GRILL will that swap from an SSE? I hate the SE'* grill look.
I have yet to drive the car as it is about 2 hours away, so is there anything I SHOULD LOOK FOR?
I am used to LG3'* so this whole LN is sorta new to me.

The taillights and the grill will swap out with no problem. I would definatly look at the coolant and the oil. See if the coolant is sludgy or green. Check belts hoses and things of that sort. Check the master cylinder for leaks(common problem). Check for rust in the wheel wells and on the rocker panels(thats where it starts on a 92). Check the suspention and the tires. Check trans fluid (no metal shavings). Does the AC work? Things like that.....

we've had a discussion on the se and sse/ssei grills and im pretty sure they dont directly swap cause the se grill is a little bigger than the sse/ssei grill if memory serves me correctly, ill try to find a post or maybe some pics.
