Did snow screw my car up?
When i came home from work one morning after our area got slammed with a blizzard, i had to take my bonnie through a couple snow drifts about 2 to 4 feet deep just to get home. two thumbs up for her making it through them. but when i got past them my tranny kept kicking down a gear and back up and alternator gauge kept going all the way to the low red end! what did i do!? i haven't drivin it sinse cause the roads still stink, but did i screw something up? or is just full of snow and will pass? thanks.

If it'* a real undervoltage, it might be messing with the tranny. It could be moisture, any number of things. I'd check around underneath for any damage, and see if it still does it when it 'dries up' a bit. Try to duplicate the problem and note anything else that may be wrong.

I agree with Will, the most likely cause of the low voltage would be a very wet belt and a slipping pulley on the alt. I have experienced this on several cars--but not my Bonneville. I won't drive through four foot drifts

i checked the belt and it'* fine, it probably was just wet, i hope. i normaly wouldn't drive through that much snow, but i had to get home. i'll check for damage, thanks Will. I was just hoping it wasn't something serious. why can't it be summer?!
