Trunk Button
ok i know this has been discussed before but i can figure out how to fix it.
I have a 92 bonneville se the trunk button doesnt work on the drivers door.
i tried opening the trunk and pushing like previous posts said and didnt hear any clicking noises where do i go from here?
btw does anyone have any idea about putting keyless entry in my car? like recommended systems.
Thanks

If you determine that the botton is actually broken, PM me. I have one that I bought brand new from GM for my 99 that I never ended up using (mis-diagnosis).

You hear the relay? Under the passenger side of the dash? If so, the switch is fine. Did you try this with the trunk OPEN already to listen for the actuator?
Please don't start another topic, as we don't know your previous troubleshooting steps.
Start over from the beginning so we know what you've done already.

Have someone else push the button while you have your head in the passenger front footwell. If you hear no noise, remove the driver'* door panel, and make sure the switch is hooked up for starters.

If you have no clicking of the relay and you are pulling the door panel to see if it'* hooked up. Don't reassemble if it'* hooked up. Here'* a nice little test for the switch.
Get a meter...Radioshack sells some for like $2... it'll do as long as it has ohms on it.
set meter to ohms, hold the two leads of the meter to the two pins of the switch and have someone press the button to activate the switch. Ohms should peg out on a meter with a needle or zero out on a digital meter. That means the switch is working fine and something else if your problem. I'd then check the switch for volts or ground. FSM hasn't come in yet....dunno what to expect there. Bill, 1993...is this hot or grounded?
