Default 99SSei How hard is to change Valve covers gaskets.

Yeah they're leaking oil and just wondering how hard could it be to replace them,,, and what kind of tools I would require..
Also I see that the valve cover on the back of the engine is a little bit harder than the one on the front by the radiator.
Has anybody done this....?

thanx

I've done them on the neighbor'* 93SSE, never on my SSEi, but it'* really quite easy. Not much in the way, either.

The series I'* are about 50X easier to do than the Series II'*. The series II have brackets, and wiring, the alternator, and a lot of other things in the way in the rear. Although the front is very easy. But, if I were you, I would throw in some rockers while you have the valve covers off, and wake that L67 up a little bit.

It took me about 20 minutes to do it on my sisters '93 Olds 88 (L27), and it took my dad and I together ~3 hours or so to do it on the SSEi (Series II L67), and we had previous experience doing it on the GTP, but that also includes the 20 minute rocker swap. The only thing I can really tell you is to just allow a lot of time so you aren't stranded if something happens to go wrong.
