Alright, Just had another friend stop by for a while who has done axles before. We ended up bending a new craftsman pry bar trying to get it off. I called my trusted shop and talked with them for a few minutes. They had nothing very favorable to say. Something along the lines of it the CV part is heat welded onto the axle at all, it may require things up to rebuilding the tranny to fix it. This is not an option for my friend. Money is way too tight.
The other option we are vaguely considering is to just reassemble the new bearings and axle into the old CV case at that end of the shaft. Then we wouldn't need to remove it. Not the best solution though.
Good thought helikon. I will call a Chysler dealer in the morning to see if they have any tricks that might work.
