Default 92 SSE steering is extremely hard

Power steering is virtually non-existent at any speed. I have hear of firm steering, but this is not right. It'* not quite the feel of non-power steering, but it'* close. I can't turn it easily at low speed or no speed with one hand. I had a 97 SE and my wife has a 2000 SLE and they were both firm, but I could do the one-finger wheel turn at a stop. You would break that finger trying to do it on my 92.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

haha I have the opposite problem, my power steering usually doesn't work when I'm standing still, at least for no more than 1 full turn, and I have to give it some gas to move the wheels for it to turn.

Want to switch?

You might have a belt slipping on the power steering pump a higher RPMs or you have a pump going out. Also..check your power steering fluid level and fill if need be.

Fluid and belt are ok. Could this be something electronic?
