Default Wind noise around passenger door window at highway speed

My 97SE developed a wind noise coming in around the passenger front door window. I've read that other Bonnies develop wind leaks too. I tried adjusting the door striker plate to have the door shut tighter, but it didn't help. So, not wanting to go crazy with this, I'm letting my dealer fix it. (It was oil-change time anyway.)

They've taken the door apart, and they say my audio installers tore the rain shield when they installed my door speakers and they imply that is part of the noise. I don't know if it is, but whatever, as long as they fix it.

Anyway, I just wanted to post about what'* going on with my Bonnie, and I'll update with what they do to fix it, in case it will help anybody else down the road.

My 98 has the sameproblem. I doubt speaker install has a thing to do with it. Check out my Claim History. Been in a few times for the noise...

Well after two days my dealer was unable to eliminate it. They say to fix it Ithey'll need to replace the rubber seal that goes around the door and that front triangle window, and they say that part costs over $500 and they don't stock it, so they'd have to order it. They already had more than five hours of working on it and would have charged me over $600 in labor alone (to not even fix it) but agreed to only charge me half. (Golly, thanx.)

So I'm not really very happy about it right now. Anybody have a part number so I can get a price from gmpartsdirect?

My official conclusion is that I was in error thinking the dealership could do a better job at fixing it than I could probably do. At this point I'm willing to take a crack at it myself, but I don't think I can justify paying $500 for the seal.

you should have someone drive your car and start pushing on the door seals and such. If pushing in one area increases/decreases the noise it may help you to pin point where the sound is comming from specifically. My "rain barrier" is also not fully connect due to my speaker install. I didn't notice any more wind noise than normal. I did sound deaded the inside of the outer door skin, which reduced road noise. How do the plastic drain pieces above the door look? cracked? (the ones with the silver trim on it)
