Default What kind of MAF readings should i be getting?

I Think my MAF is not working correctly. I was wondering what kind of g/sec and hz everyones maf reads at idle, and at WOT. this will help me see if mine is out of wack or not. make sure to put how much boost your running if it isn't in your sig, as this will change the expected g/sec as the flow is increased.

thanks

You should be seeing a frequency around 2,0000 at idle & up around 10,000 @ WOT. That'* from the 99 FSM. My son'* is around 2100 at idle. We never checked @ WOT while driving. Just giving the throttle some quick blips in park sends it up around 8,000.

What are you getting?

I'm getting around 2400 at idle and up to 11400 at wot. as far as g/sec i am seeing 5 at idle and up to 270 at wot. A gm tech told me that my numbers were too high and my maf was out of clibration.

When watching a scan tool, at WOT my car is seeing a lean condition and tryiing to make it rich, but when i had my car dynoed 2 weeks ago, the wide band they hooked up was reading 10.5 a/f so i am actually running rich. If it means anyhting, I took the car for a wot run today, and i was seeing 0 kr. some of the time it would go upto 1-2 and then back to 0.

You can try cleaning it & make sure the MAF screen is debris free.

I already cleaned the screen. i also took the maf out and looked at it, and it looked clean, but what would i use to clean it? are you running the stock pulley that you are getting 10000hz or have you dropped in pulley sizes?

Some use alcohol & a Q-tip to gently remove any crud. You can also just spray it with CRC Maf sensor cleaner. Son'* car is stock. I don't know if pulley size has any affect or not.

In refference to your KR going up to 1-2 then back to zero. Is this happening at the shift points or very close to them, or at different times? If at shift points that'* common. Mine went away when I installed the intense shift kit. If you have not doing this yet, I would suggest doing so. Takes less then 2 hours and I can help you with that if you need it.

it'* kinda random. if i punch it from a stop i only see it higher in the rpm range, but if i punch it from a rolling 10 mph i see it constantly. i need to replace my torque mount and my front transmission mount, as this is the source of what i thought was a rich/lean pop, and may also cause false knock.... not sure. i just want to figure out why my pcm sees a lean condition when i am actually running rich. i pulled the spark plugs today and you can tell the engine is running rich. the plugs were nice and black with carbon.

Once I get my cable back we can hook your car up to my laptop and see what we can find. False knock is a possiblilty.

in regards to the Maf, with my 3.4 Pulley i see the 11400 readings....i see in the 10,400 with the 3.5 so you are seeing sorta high numbers with the pulley....

Quick Reply: What kind of MAF readings should i be getting?
