We're on the same page here. If those harnesses are intact, I'd change the PCM. Luckily, neither is an expensive option. No gaurantees on this one, but that'* what the book looks like from the cover.

hmm.. pcm :? i knoe there is the BCM and the ECM... pcm is the???? are they the chip that guys replace with a high perf chip? do these PCM'* cost a lot? if you guys are talking about picking ine up at the local parts store like murryas or autozone can i take it5 back if its not the problem anyone think??

and no i have not had a chance to look at the plugs cause that means lifting the car and have had no time.. best friends dad past on so I wont have info till mon :(

ECM (engine control module) was used until 92, when the 4T60E tranny became electroncially controlled. It then became the PCM (powertrain control module). Same same. No hurry. Your car is just a bit confused. No danger. Tend to friends and family. We'll be here when you get back.

If they used the ECM up untill 92 and then went to the pcm then I would not have a pcm..or by saying pcm you also mean ecm for an older vehicle like mine? but outta curiosity aren't those expensive..like 100 ta 200 dollers?

ok..that makes sense...now with the ECm..when i go into the self diagnosis of the car it is able to tell me the cars VIN tag number..now is information like that stored in the ECM of in another chip somewhere else and just relayed to the cars brain when it nees to show it?
