new shifter boot
i was wondering if it was possible to replace the shifter boot. I have a 92, and i wanted to change it to a whilte leather boot. but i dunno if you can even change it so if neone knows then let me know

It doesn't look difficult at all. The boot is simply glued onto the plastic part. The idea would be to:
Remove the existing boot or get another one from a junkyard <--- my recommendation
Undo the stitches so you end up with two flat pieces of material
Trace pieces onto material of choice
Sew 'em up
Glue onto plastic piece

Here are some quick directions:
Step One: Remove the old boot by pulling it off the console assembly. It'* only glued and stapled (once). If you don't care about the old boot, just cut it off.
Step Two: Clean off all the old adhesive.
Step Three: Glue the new boot in place. Super Glue worked REALLY well for me. It bonds to the plastic/leather pretty good and seems to be holding up pretty well so far!

Posts like a Ricer Type-R
It'* tougher with the 2k+ boot in the 92-99 cars. The boot comes up around the base of the T handle 2k shifter, and ends up being ALMOST too short to reach all the way to the bottom. I really should make a new boot for mine, or convince Randman to make me one
