Unhappy Intake Manifold Gasket Won't Come OFF!!!

I was wondering why is that my intake manifold gasket won't come off and how to get it off. It is STUCK like it has never been off since the engine was built! Me and my brother been trying to get this friggin' thing off since 10:30 this morning and it is already after 2:00pm!

We been using a pry bar to get this manifold off, but it'* only pushing the old gasket down to where you can see it through the holes. The manifold seems to be moving a tiny bit, but this thing is too tough! Do anyone have some tips? This thing should be slightly easy to say the least!

Do you know if you got the two hidden bolts?

In the front driverside and rear passenger side there are two bolts. These are called the hidden bolts. They are actually inside the manifold under the oil/goo. Stick a finger in or mop up the goo and you should see them.

If it'* not the hidden bolts, then maybe the EGR pipe needs to be removed from the LIM?

Those are the ones that need the T 50 bits to be taken out? I got those, but I'm thinking that the two screws on the side where the EGR valve is at need to go too! I'm calling my brother now to let him know! Thanks!

The two biggest problem areas are the big bolts that hold the evap bracket on to the head and the two hidden ones. Glad to help out.

Some days you can get the job done w/o getting a finger gooky..but some days you can't.

GM had a sense of humor though.. take a look at the upper manifold, it'll have arrows and wording saying "hidden bolt here"
