Default missfire

I'm starting to have stuttering while in TCC and applying light throttle. Definatly feels like a miss too.

Last time this happened, the miss in TCC was the first thing I noticed. And then it got worse, to the point where it missed whenever boost was introduced, and I got a random multiple missfire code.

So last time I swapped out coils (didn't help), got new belden plug wires (didn't help), and finally I replaced the spark plugs which fixed the issue.

The reason I tried plugs last, is because I had JUST changed them a few months before, and upon inspection they looked to be healthy.

It has only been a few months again...and the same thing is happening. Why is my car going through spark plugs every few months?

Can you post a picture of the plugs?

My thoughts exactly. NUMBER your plugs as you pull them. We may need this info in 6 months again. I see where Ted is going with this.

Oil or fuel fouling of your plugs. We'll need good well-lit closeups to read them correctly.

Well guess what I found....this is a picture from the LAST change. I know it isn't the best, and I'm not sure if you can tell anything from it. But I thought I would post it anyway. Maybe I can toy with it in PS because it is a bit over exposed, but anyway here it is. This is after about 2 or 3 months.

As for oil consumption. I know my car needs to be topped off every so often, but I also know that my valve covers are leaking, as well as my LIM. I was hoping this could wait as a spring project.

As for fuel, I use 94 octane 10% ethanol blended. I switched to it during the summer I beleive.

Let'* start with a little photo tip. The exposure meters in cameras set the exposure to a medium gray. If you set the plugs on something black the meter will overexpose to make the black gray. Setting them on something white will result in under exposure. So the tip is to simply set them on something gray or a medium color to get a more accurate exposure.

I can see a little brown on the electrode side of the two center plugs. If these are the only 2 with brown on them then you may have a weak coil.

I see it too. That would be fuel fouling from an incomplete burn. Much less worrysome than an oil fouling (which isn't common for us).

Your next plug change may confirm this.
