trans?
Is anyone familar with the trans not making that final shift/lockup at 50mph? its happened a few times now over the past month... i'll be driving and notice that i'm doing 55ish and running at 2000+ RPM... i KNOW that it needs to shift one more time... So, is the the precurser to a trans rebuild?
On another note, how strong is the trans in these cars? how much do i have to worry about them?

Tranny'* aren't all that strong in these cars, perhaps most common major failure for these cars.
What'* the average temp in your area this time of year? Because mine pretty much won't shift into OD for quite a few miles until it'* warmed up.

well right now its in teh 30'* or 40'*... but the odd thing of it is that it will shift fine while cold, but only SOMETIMES gives me trouble when warm... i've been driving for about 30 to 45 min...
if i shut the car off and start it up it seems to shift fine again... (i stoped for gas and when i left it worked)
also, cruise doesn't turn off by itself but sometimes it won't turn on... again, seems to go away when i stop somewhere, turn off, and then leave again...

Grrr.... not what i was wanting to hear but sorta what i already knew...
well, i know that this might be just grasping here but would a fluid change possibly help eak out a little more life... i need to make sure that i get through this semester of school before any mechanical dumps occur.

I had mine rebuilt a while ago for 1500. Again in the next week, cost unknown.
If it'* heat related, a rebuild is gonna need to be done.
If you have not had your tranny flushed on a regular basis, DO NOT DO IT!!! Not yet anyway. That will speed up your failure, and will end up some wasted money. Be planning accordingly.
