Trouble code 361??
Okay here goes, I finally received everything for my Actron scanner. Hooked it up and got a display of "Code 361- Ignition System Problem, Elec Spark Timimg, EST not toggling". The only problem is,....Actron (website) doesnt show that as a trouble code number. I have looked in some of my other manuals for the 3800 EST circuits, and they tell you that the Cam Sensor sends a signal to the Module, the module passes it along to the ECM, and the ECM will in turn send a timing signal back to the Module/Coils on when to fire. I have taken off the Module, NAPA says they can test it, but wondered if anyone has experienced this one? Thus far, the car runs a little flat, not much better than the 89 Bonne that I had (LE). I did clear the code, and it sets it off again immediately upon restart. Just short of replacing all three (ECM, CAM SENSOR, MODULE) any ideas, and does anyone know where a breakdown of the 3 digit codes exist?

You need a service manual for the 94-95 codes. I don't think there is a 361 code, are you sure it'* not 1361?

Service manuals are available for sale at www.helm.com
Sometimes you can find used ones on Ebay.
The 1361 code (probably the same) means that some of the communication between the ignition module and the PCM is not correct. The service manual can walk you thru a good diagnostic, but it is likely the ignition control module.

I have the thick 2 book GM service manual for a '95. I found the P1361 code but not 361. It has all the diagnostic procedures in the book and I can share them with you if needed. Just let me know.

Thanks Fuddyduddy121, I guess it would help if I would READ the damn page.
-SSEi95- If it wouldnt be any trouble, I'd like to hear what it says, I doubt if it will be alot different than the 94'*, at least it will give me something to troubleshoot. NAPA did check the module today, and it checked out GOOD. Hmmm. The mounting plate did seem to be extra corroded from the dielectric grease dissolving, so I will try to clean, re-grease, re-install, and re-check. If it doesnt improve, I'll continue from there.
95neongirl- Are you considering picking one up?
