Remove it from the car, take the MAF sensor out and put it somewhere safe so it doesn't get damaged. Your seal (gasket) should be in good enough condition to re-use, but be prepared to replace it if necessary.
Use INTAKE SAFE cleaner only, not Carb cleaner. A toothbrush or acid brush works well, too. Make sure it'* good and dry before reinstalling the MAF sensor.

The only thing I would add to Will'* instructions are remove & clean the IAC too! Just becareful not to adjust it (the pintle screws in/out). 
You could remove the TPS too, but I advise againest it if you've never re-adjusted one before.

Will, I want to clean mine too, and taking it off seems to be the safest way for me. I just don't like the idea of spraying something into my engine. But how hard is it to take off?
Well, I guess if I had a manual that would help, but I don't

94, I gotta tell you, the L27 is probably the biggest PITA here.
From another thread:
You don't REALLY need the book, it'* pretty straightforward. Don't lose the 2 clips for the throttle/cruise cables, take a couple pics as you pull it apart, and put any bolts or nuts back where they came from as you remove parts. The ONLY way to thoroughly clean the TB is to remove it from the vehicle. Josh and I did his the first time in 2 hours taking our time. Second time was much faster. Wanna be jealous? The L67 comes off in half the half time 
Not many differences, but it matters. The angled plastic upper intake is what makes it harder on the L27.

Hope it'* the TB gasket. The L27 is a bitch to remove in comparison to the L67. The bracketry is slightly different, since your TB actually mounts at an angle to the upper intake flange.
You'll have to remove the throttle/cruise cable bracket, the crossover heat shield, and a couple other things to get the TB off, but if you do this, consider it a prime opportunity to remove your MAF sensor, and thoroughly clean the TB (off the car). Then put the new gasket on, and go along your merry way.
First though, get an inspection mirror and flashlight in there and try to find the highest point you can detect leaking coolant. It'* critical at this point to determine exactly where it'* coming from. Easier to do in a dark garage, or at night, btw.
If you do have to remove the TB, be warned that the L27 upper intake occasionally has a problem with the threaded anchors that the TB studs mount into. They can spin in the intake flange, and not loosen. I suggest spraying a liberal amount of liquid wrench on the nuts (on the TB side) and the anchors behind the TB flange about an hour or two before attempting to loosen anything.
(I've removed the TB on Jseabert'* 93SSE twice, my SSEi once)
