Pre 134 reon upgrade?
Well the ac compressor locked up in my '93 after only 246,000 mi. Anyone know if newer compressor is a bolt in? Plan on replacing most of ac stuff in engine compartment.

Shouldn't need to replace anything but the condenser. But make shure to FLUSH the AC system before installing a new one. Also NAPA has conversion fittings available to convert to R134a gas. New compressors should come prefilled with oil so flush , install and fill !! I've converted hundreds of systems with no problems.Just fill with only 90% of the amount of R12 it calls for.R134a gas properties are different.

If your going to install a new compressor, you will also need a new receiver drier, and Orifice tube as well. Without the drier, your compressor will not be warranteed. The instructions in the compressor box states that. Make sure when you get your parts, you properly fill them with the proper oil and amount. Each part takes a certain amount of oil.

My BAD!!! The "condenser" should have said compressor in my previous post! It was a mistype. And yes a new oriface tube is always a good idea.
