fuses wouldnt matter cuz everything works but the actual speed does not light up unless the speed sensor is shot? i dont know too much about these motors or the car it self

I'm with ya.
Always check the fuse first. It'* possible, although unlikely, that the other indicators are not powered by the control module.
Need to know if the speed signal is getting to the HUD (The dark green and white wire). Your speed sensor is fine, unless you are having problems with the speedometer too.

what does this require in disasemblely of the dash? can i just go under? or does the hud unit just pop out of the top? dark green and white should have power when? both should have power?

Definitely check the fuse first.
The voltage comes from the HUD to the PCM. The PCM sends 4000 grounds per mile. The HUD senses voltage drops.
You can test the wire at the PCM for voltage. Disconnect the green wiring harness. Look into the plug with the clip on the top and the wires in the back.
Ignition on (engine doesn't have to be on)
Second row, terminal No. 7 should have a dark green and white wire hooked to it. Test the voltage at the dark green and white wire by connecting a voltmeter to it (and the other side of the voltmeter to ground)
Should be 12V coming from the HUD.
