Wait 'til it'* cool, then grab a piece of wire and wire the loose piece back up to the cat or pipe. That will keep it off the ground while you drive to the muffler shop.

Honestly.. most places don't bother to weld this.

Home Depot/Lowes have large metal hose like clamps in the plumbing section. Put one around the cat and tighten. The shield will still be there and you'll be fixed up for about $5
