Default Tranny hum?

well I just got a 92 SE, with F17 gears, and an L27, with 135K and While I'm driving there seems to be a bit of a humming sound. It is not loud, and if the radio was on even at normal volume, one cannot hear it. It'* not a whine, it is rather low pitched.

At first I thought tranny, I got a full flush and filter change, and no difference at all. It seems to shift fine, and the RPM'* seem to be where they should be (15-1700 at 55-65, 19-2200 at 70ish, and 22-2500 at 80-85.) The car runs and drives very smooth, but it only hums when it'* moving. The sound is there whether it'* in gear or in neutral. Any ideas if this is something that should worry me or be looked at, or should i just chalk it up to a 15 year old car? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance!

Dave

Is that the same as a wheel bearing?

Raise the front wheels off the ground with the car in neutral. Make sure you put the parking brake on and block the rear wheels to. Spin the front wheel with one hand as fast as you can with the other hand on the coil spring. You should not feel anything in the spring. If you feel any kind of grinding in the spring, then that is the side with the bad wheel hub bearing. You can do the same with the rear wheels as well.
