Default Temperature Guage and Oil Guage stuck!!!!!

When I first got the car the oil guage has been stuck but now the temp guage stays stuck at the bottom for like 5 minutes then goes up to normal. The oil guage stays stuck at the highest part. What can you do to fix this problem? or what causes this?

Temp gauge.. sounds like normal warmup to me... Or does it stay at the bottom and THEN instantly moves fairly quickly to the actual car temp?

Oil pressure.. that is a bad ground. Where you ask? Could be anywhere. Someone from your year should direct you to where to check.. my '89 is going to have different grounding areas..

the temp guage stays down at the bottom and then goes up to normal temps after about 5 minutes or so.

so it isn't a slow climb as the engine warms up? I don't know then, wait for the senior techs to chime in .

Your thermostat may be stuck open, and you may need to replace your oil pressure sending unit.

You can check your ECT sensor using the specs in Techinfo.
