I found one for 450 w/90day warranty from a salvage yard 30 miles south of me.

That'* a good price (bordering on great price) with perhaps the best warranty you'll ever see from a wrecker. For them to give that kind of warranty, they verified the trans worked before they pulled it (it drove in, wasn't towed).
Same way my replacement motor came about. The wrecker I bought it from doesn't buy tow-ins for any drivetrain components. All tow-ins are strictly interior or exterior parts. Motor and trans get sold for scrap if they can't verify them.
