Need an excuse for that tranny upgrade? Having a hard time convincing the spouse to let you spend the cash? Now you have that solution!

Ship your car to Hector, or pay his airfare to your location, and he'll drive your car like he drives his and BLOW your tranny into scud shrapnel like he did to his today! It blew up 20' from the Corvette he was going to rescue.

Apparently the sheetmetal upper intake provided a wee bit too much torque to the 4T65E.

Goodness....did I say sheetmetal upper intake? Oopsy. Let the little kitty out of the bag! Damn Hector. Sorry.

I gotta lay off the beer. Anyway, that'* two transmissions and a torque converter in less than a week! Good job guys! (all three on the west coast, too)

Sheet Metal ??? the upper inake gasket ???? Hummm.. I wonder what material we can fabricate that out of for more durability?? Sheet metal ?? could get a shop to cut the design out.. but would it work with all the heat and cold expansion ?? I think if I blow my tranny... I"d bug him bout the conversion into a Northstar with 4t80?? hee hee

No, we're talking upper intake MANIFOLD. Not gasket. Replacement for the stock plastic cracker.

And much better performance......obviously. Hector Fragged his tranny for the team. Trying to see just how far that extra torque fromt he prototype sheetmetal upper would go!

He'* also playing around with a couple other designs, but that'll be for him to post at another time. He was tired last night, and let his guard down enough to allow me to post the info above.

Yes, he was running the Sheetmetal upper intake. Still developing, but it looks VERY promising for performance. Just not for transmission lifetime!
