Default rear defroster

me again with another awkward problem that i cant find anywhere in the club forum... when i start my car, and i turn on the defroster, it automatically goes off after like 5 seconds.. i cant get it to light up until i turn off the car and start it again, i can get it to click but nothing happens and the windows stay fogged up with snow and that,

Could be a problem in the defroster grid. Take a look and see if the lines are broken anywhere on the window. And that the two tabs that connect to the window grid are both hooked up.

If you have a digital volt/ohm meter (DVOM) you can test the voltage and resistance in each line of the grid, there is also a repair kit for damaged rear defrost windows. Also check the relay for the grid itself, might be bad.
