I have a question out there for all you GM goo roo'*. On these GM'* with the 3800 series I & II engines, mated to 4T60-E transaxles, how long do they usually last. Mines hitting 243K with all the original equipment and still running great. I know a lady in my home town that drives a 1994 Buick LaSebre with over 400K!!! Whats the average life span of these 92-99'*?

We have members over 200K and that is typically considered an easy acheivement. However at 243K and 400K those are some fairly high mileage cars.

How much further can your car go is usually relational to how well it was maintained.

We also have a member here who had a 92 with the EGR-less L27 that hit 383,000 when he sold it. He was on his second transmission, but original engine.

these engines will easily outlast the trannys.
If you install a cooler and properly maintain them, the skys the limit.

The '87 is at 205 and counting, 3rd transmission. The only major work on the engine was the timing chain and tensioner, otherwise it runs like a champ. Uses no fluids and leaks nothing.
