Default Bonneville died wihile running

I was scared by my old Bonneville SE today.
I was driving very slowly in Walmart parking lot, suddently the alarm sounded and the " check gage" light came on. Within 30 seconds alarm and the " check gage" disappear an the car died. . Since it is evening the panel lights are still on. I turn the key back, start the car again and it seems normal.

I just replaced the sending unit and gas tank one month ago. after the replacement I feel it is not as easy to start the car as it was before replacement. It seems that there is not engough gas, though the gas tank is still full.

my question is: what'* the source of cause? is it related to my replacement of gas tank and sending unit. if it is not, what'* the possible cause?

By the way, it is a 97 Bonneville SE.

Thanks.

Did you change the fuel filter also?

Possible that you might have kinked a line while reinstalling the the new tank.

if you can, i would go ahead and check for any stored codes...that would certainly help.

and also, please add your year and trim to you signature.

Definitely check for codes.

This has happened to me a few times as well. The last time it happened was about a year and a half ago. I attributed it to the PCM acting flaky because I could never pin point the problem.

That'* a good idea. Many thanks. what kinds of codes do you mean? Do you need some more information about the car before you check for the stored codes?

Have them check the fuel pressure.

Have your shop perform a Fuel Pressure check to see how much pressure is in the system. That should give you an idea if there is a lack of fuel.

Also what I would check is your car alarm. Is it an aftermarket?

I will do it tomorrow. What else shall I ask them to check for me. last time they replaced fuel tank, sending unit, fuel filter for me.

The other wierd problem is that when it is very moist, e.g. it is heavily raining, the "check engine" light comes on. It comes off when weather becomes good. what'* the possible cause for this? some leakage in power?
