Who'* closest to RI? He'* going to need a buddy to help drop the tank. I've done it solo, as has Don, but it goes alot better with two.

My car has been reading full for a few years.
Try $300 for a new sending unit or $120 for an aftermarket unit.

Thanks a lot, but I have a few friends that would be more than happy to help me drop the tank if I indeed need to do so. Thanks a lot though.

Another new development... I was driving today and stopped on the down part of a hill for a minute or so. My fuel pressure went up and showed for 3/4 of a tank left, then it slowly rose back up to full and then beyond full. I could not make this happen again after that. What the heck!

This is not really a new development, just a different manifestation of the original problem. Your fuel level sensor has failed. Begin using your tripmeter to estimate when you need to re-fuel.

i am having almost the similar problem however, my gas tank says EMPTY all the time , its good to scare peolpe who are driving with me and we are hours away from a gasoline station, nothing better than telling someone "well I guess we better start walking"

Anyways , where can I the part to replace the Gauge and if so where is it located. I know its inside the gas tank and on top of the muffler but is the part sold sepreatley from the fuel sender ?
