WHAT THE HELL!
Ok I had all my power systems fail on me while on the freeway. I lost Power brakes, steering, head lights, hazard lights, dash board controls, radio..... However my engine didn't cut out. We have checked my battery, Alternator, every single fuse, fuse cluster in the car... the wiring going to the fuse clusters are fine. She will turn over but won't run for long. My speedometer is stuck at 130 even while the car is off.

I have no idea what is left to check nor what it could be! HELP!

Man you're MOVING!!

Check the condition of your battery cables. Clean any corrosion you may find, and see if the problem persists.

how do you power brakes and power steering fail from a power problem if the car kept running, thats what confuses me... its not possible (atleast 99% unlikely) to loose electricity, vacuum, and belt drive all at the same time if that car doesnt stall

aren't there wires called fusible links that power certain sections of the car and if that link fails then all the systems on that link will lose power? It would seem possible for the entire interior to lose power, but the engine still has power?

Power steering first thing i would check, belt. Power brakes? Does the main vacuum feeder going into the booster have vacuum at idle, if u start the car with this removed it most likely will stall shortly after, unless you plug it off with your thum, that will work. As for the dashboard...?

That sounds a LOT like a problem I had a few years back. I wasn't on the freeway. I was at a drive thru. All of a sudden, everything went out. Everything electrical was gone, but the engine was still running! I couldn't accelerate either. Weird. Eventually, everything came back and I took it to an Auto Zone or some similar place. They tested the battery and alternator. They were both fine. I was baffled for a couple weeks. I can't remember how I tracked it down, but it turned out to be the alternator anyways. Some sort of module that was on it. Try taking the alternator off and taking it to a really good alternator shop. I don't undestand how an alternator can cause that many problems, but on these cars it can! Matt
