Reverse/back-up lights: they dont work at all ,all other lights work, any ideas?

Stalling issue: When coming to a stop, she stalls ( i gotta drive it with two feet so it wont stall) its just like the engine idles down way too far and it stalls

Hi,
Have you looked in the tech info here under the possible sensors to check for stalling problems?

Stalling could be a dirty throttle body. Pull it off and give it a good cleaning.

When you come to a stop try putting the car in neutral before the car stops. When you try this though please be very careful of your surroundings.

Does the motor serge before it stalls or does it just shut off?

If the motor has no problem going into neutral at the stop sign and idles fine than let us know....

When do you get the symptoms? After the car warms up? Before it warms up?
could be a stuck EGR..
Or a REALLY bad O2 sensor. How many miles you have on your car?
Check engine light on?

Check the vacuum lines in the engine compartment for leaks, disconnected or bad hoses, and broken fittings. Especially check the vacuum lines and fittings to the power brake booster, and also check the booster itself to see if the diaphragm is holding vacuum. If the vacuum diaphragm is damaged, there could be a vacuum leak every time you apply the brakes - possibly large enough to stall the engine.
Similar symptoms can be produced from a lockup torque converter that does not unlock, causing the car to stall upon stopping.

Dan isn't a bad MAF sensor another possible cause for stalling? And that if you unplug the sensor and go for a drive and the car does not stall than that would be an indication of it going bad?

Possibly. PCV valve, EGR, throttle position sensor, vacuum leak, dirty throttle body. Those are the main causes of stalling.

Can you give us some information on the last tune up on this car?

Start with the easy things to do: check your vacuum lines, look for cracks, cuts, breakage, leaks...spray carb cleaner around all fittings and vacuum hoses. does the engine rev up when you spray the cleaner around those areas?

How old is the fuel filter? Plugs? Wires? Air filter?

Still stalls in neutral , i have to keep the rpm'* up so it wont stall
engine just shuts off , sometimes i dont notice untill it gets hard to steer and the chime is going off

when i drive it to work in the morning when the car is cold , she runs great , exept for the rough idle , when starting in it takes a little longer than i think it should to start , just seems to crank a little bit too long , when it dose start (it always dose) the idle is all over the place up and down and all around , then it smooths out (takes about 30 seconds) and idles at about 1500rpm when its cold .

So yes the symptoms are after it warms up.

im leaning toward O2 sensor , dont know why just am

154000 km'* (95 691 miles, i think)

engine light is on

i just bought the car and the last owner says it needs a tune up, he defiantly dosn't take care of his cars , we pulled the dip stick and the oil was black and down half a liter ( yes im Canadian)

so on top of what u guys can tell me what to do , today im goin to the city for plugs and wires , air filter and possibly a fuel filter (not sure if i can tackle the fuel filter without breaking something , ill have to read the tutorial on it again )

I'm doing my best to answer your questions to help me , I figure the more work i do my self the less its gonna cost me at the mechanics
