and of course i choose one of the hardest projects.... Heres the scoop. I have a 94 ssei... the water pump died but when it did i broke one of the pulley and broke the "bracket" that holds the pulley and alternator. (Talk about bad luck) So i get a quote from the mechanic...he tells me it will be over $900 to remove old bracket, get new one, get new pulleys, new belts and new water pump. Couldnt afford it so i figured id give it a try....big mistake....i started 2 weeks ago and worked almost everyday since. and im still not done. I finally got the water pump, bracket and pulley back on. Now im to the point where i have to put my belts back on but i cant find a diagram on how to do so. Im hoping i dont have to take the motor mount back off to put it on. Can some one please show me a diagram of how to put the belts back on. All help is GREATLY appreciated

Thanks alot...... i hope everythings installed right.....it really doesnt look like the belt could fit between the mount and the water pump. (not alot of space in there)... thanks again....

Is the 94 different from the 93? Just had belts installed on 93SSEI, no big deal.

No, you DON'T have to pull them mount. Not on a Series 1. SSEi'* from 92-95 can swap belts (both of them) without pulling the mount.

Only Series 2 cars must do this.

how do i know if i have a series 1 or 2.......and if thats the case y wont the belts just gone on..........i ran them through just like the diagram but i cant get it all the way on. is it supposed to be that tight?

You have a Series1. It'* a 94. You need to really move the tensioners to full travel in order to get them on.

My suggestion is to put the accessory belt on the Alternator LAST. Do the Harmonic balancer, ps pump and idlers first, then work the tensioner to allow you to install it on the alternator last.

For the Supercharger belt, do the same, with the supercharger being the last pulley, with the tensioner fully depressed.

Where do you live? We may have someone nearby to help you for a minute. It should take only one or two minutes for each belt.

Yes it will be a snug fit, do you have someone giving you a hand? Its hard to work the tensioner and slip the belt on with your free hand.

You DO have a Series 1. 1994 SSEi'* were Series 1, as were the 95'*. Pdad is right, it helps to have someone work the tensioner while you manipulate the belts with both hands.
