TSB'* (92-7-22A; ATRATB286 & 93-6-42A)
TSB: 92-7-22A Squawk/Moan Noise When TCC Applies On Deceleration
Models Affected: 1992 Bonnevilles
Condition:
A sqawk/moan noise is heard when the TCC applies or a moan noise is heard on decel at approximately 1900 rpm.
Cause;
This condition could be caused by a ground out of the transaxle cooler pipe clips where they attach to the lower tie bar.
Correction:
To correct this condition, it will be necessay to install isolation kit, part # 25614724. The isolation kit consists of 2 rubber grommets, 2 metal clips, and 2 screws.
Service Procedure:
*(ALL Bonneville vehicles EXCEPT Pontiac SSEi & vehicles equipped with Trailer Towing Option V92)*
1) Raise Vehicle to gain access to cooler pipe clips attached to lower tie bar.
2) Unlatch both clips to release cooler pipes.
3) Remove clip attaching screws & clips.
4) Attach rubber grommets to cooler pipes in the same location as original clips.
5) Install metal clips over rubber grommets.
6) Attach clips to tie bar with screws provided in the kit. Torque to 5-7 Nm (4-5 Ft.Lbs)
7) Lower vehicle.
*(Pontiac SSEi & ALL vehicles equipped with V92 trailer Towing)*
1) Raise vehicle to gain access to cooler clips attached to lower tie bar.
2) Unlatch the right side clip ONLY to release cooler pipes.
3) Remove clip attaching screw & clip. (RH SIDE CLIP ONLY)
4) Attach rubber grommets to cooler pipes in the same location as original clip.
5) Install metal clip over rubber grommets.
6) Attach clip to tie bar with screw provided in the kit. Torque to 5-7 Nm (4-5 Ft.Lbs)
7) Lower vehicle.
8) discard remaining unused parts from the kit.

TSB: ATRATB286
Transmission: 4T60-E
Subject: PWM Solenoid Changes
1994 & 1995 4T60-E units were upgraded to a redisigned TCC PWM Solenoid Assembly (P/N 8683535). The PCM controls the duty cycle command to change lockup pressure. As always, the 4T60-E PWM Solenoid remains negative duty cycle controlled (the PCM controls the ground side of the solenoid circuit). In addition, models which previously did not use PWM controlled TCC were upgraded to PWM control for 1995.
Due to the changes made within the solenoid & circuits, it is imperative the correct solenoid be used for your application. Using the incorrect solenoid may result in TCC slip/shudder apply concerns.

TSB 93-6-42A Boom Noise On Light Acceleration
Models Affected: 1992-93 Bonnevilles with 3.8L (L27) Engine
Condition:
Exhaust "lock up boom" on light acceleration in forth gear. The torque converter clutch in the transmission locks and a load booming noise is heard in the passenger compartment. It will get progressively loader until clutch disengages.
Correction:
A new muffler has been released to correct the above condition.
1992 model year vehicles use P/N 25609138
1993 model year vehicles use P/N 25620651
