Default Faulty crank sensor interferes with cruise control

This is basically a retrospective on a couple issues I had that turned out to be related to a faulty crank sensor.

The initial complaints were that the cruise control would work sometimes, not others, and cut out for no apparent reason and with no SEL. About the same time period, I would notice the car'* power to the wheels would not be entirely smooth. There seemed to be slight hesitations, almost like I was hitting medium-sized puddles of water, though I was driving on a dry road.

I also began to experience occasional no-start or hard-start episodes. The first was the worst, and once started, the engine took a few minutes to run well enough to move the car faster than 15 mph.

Finally, the stumbling grew worse, and now it began to actually stall regularly. Now, I was getting the SEL! It was time to take the car to a local shop that I trust with this sort of thing. The diagnosis was the crank sensor, so I had it replaced.

Now, all the funky running is no longer a problem, and my cruise control works great! Well, one last nit - it doesn't accelerate well up hills. I'm sure that is a problem with the servo unit itself.

I hope this helps someone else with cruise control woes... especially if the other symptoms are also being exhibited.

This was for my 1994 Bonneville SE.
