Default How do I get someones paint scraps of my car?

I got into a little fender bender this winter and I have finally been able to examine the damage. Seems some of the paint from the dudes car that hit me rub off on my rear bumper. Is there anyway to get it off? SOS pad or something? It doesn't come off with regular washing.

Rubbing compound will take it off depending how much is there, but be gentle or you may remove a lot more than you bargained for. Sandpaper would also be effective but use only a very fine grit and you will need to smooth it down again with either a rubbing compound or a finer sandpaper that is wetted. Depending on the finish you want I would use sandpaper first, wet sand, then apply rubbing compound and then polisher.

Just kind of go in those steps and see how far you need to go with it.

Yes the sandpaper and rubbing compound will work, BUT when I started my auto detailing business last summer I bought some Turtle Wax 'Bug and Tar Remover" and this stuff is the ****. It takes off paint, old dried out bugs, and even sticky residue left behind by old bumper stickers (hopefully no one here has any bumper stickers on their car!!) I know from experience with a lot of DIRTY A$$ cars. This will work too and you don't have to sand anything. Depending on the amount of paint, you'll have to put some elbow grease into it, but it will come out.
