You didn't disassemble BOTH sides first did you??? You should R&R one side at a time so you have a reference how things should go. Anyway, you can go to this autozone sight which may help you.

I don't know what year Rockford has, but the 93 SSE has a large roughly "U" shaped spring that apparently takes the place of all the other spings shown in that diagram, except for, I think the upper return spring. (I'm working from memory here.) I was surprised to see that the first time I worked on it, and that large spring can be a bit of a PITA to attach. Every diagram I have seen shows the one listed here, however.

Archon, you are correct. I have that same @#$% "U" shaped spring on mine as well. And, YES, it is a real pain to work with. I guess I do a good job in supressing bad memories.

If you haven't figured it out yet, I believe the adjuster is the same regardless of the spring types used, so that diagram should work for you.
I bought a brake shoe expander that made work on those brakes a lot easier. It'* still a pain...just not quite as big of one!
