Default Fuel gauge on the fritz

my fuel gauge is doing tricks.....i'm paranoid as heck and ti'* bugging me ....any clues one what to check...i've heard that GM fuel gauges aren't the best anyway..but going from E to F on 2 dollars is really off.

It'* likely your fuel level sensor. The fuel pump mounts to it. Costs about $300 from GM. Mine did the exact same thing. I dealt with it for about a year and then bit the bullet and changed it. It'* not too hard of a job.

Since you'll be in there changing the level sensor it'* also a good idea to go ahead and put on a new pump too. It'* $100 of good insurance!
