Default ABS Light on, What could be the problem?

I never use anti lock brakes but the light is on and I hate it.

Most commonly a bad WSS in the hub. Check your wires and connections. Next most likely is the PMV assembly (spendy as hell). Least likely is the EBCTM module (spendy), and I have yet to see one fail EVER.

Yep sounds like a front bearing assembly. What'* the cost on one of those 150-ish? The labor is the bitch though. Course i did TWO on a blazer a while back and those ones are 300 a pop for the 4x4'*. So feel lucky

Keep in mind that only the dealer can pull ABS codes. So you want to check as many connections as possble. Removing the front wheels and pressure washing the back side of the hubs can sometimes dislodge debris and fix it, but that'* usually only true for intermittents.

Bet you it'* more likely to be a broken wire leading to the bearing/hub/ABS/TCS sensor.

Cheers,

While we are on the subject. ABS light never comes on. But everytime it'* dry and I hop in the ole TC light pops on. If it'* wet out, TC never lights up and it works like a charm.

Does your ABS light come on in self test at initial 'key on'?

If so, that'* fine.

It'* not supposed to ever come on unless there'* a fault. TC light on means it'* either disabled or dysfunctional.

ABS on startup..you bet!.. it'* a friend of mine... but that TC is probably dysfunctional. Still think I need to clean up the sensors right? maybe I'll hit that tonight.
