What engine did the 1995 Bonneville 3800 have? Did that have the series 1 or the series 2?

If it had the series 2, was it OBD2 or OBD1.5?

In 1995 GM labeled the NA motor as being Series II
Same year car supercharged motor is Series I

The 95 year was a hard year only because most of the parts for that year car was 1995 fitment only.

Yea, do you know how hard it is for me to find parts? Not everything on our 95 N/A'* are universal.

Dan is right, it is OBD1.5 and DOES support live monitoring with the USB OBDII datalink cable and a laptop.

Alright. What I need to find is a Bin file from a 95 L36 ECM PROM so that I can tune the 95 L27 in my Regal. I've been told that it can be done using TunerPro. Does anyone happen to have a 95 L36 ECM lying around?

From my buddy:

"now you're gonna hate me... you have the Series 1 3800 (L27), Right? thats about the only 3800 XDF i don't have. its refered to as using a $5B7 XDF. i have $5B, $5B1, $5B2, $5B3, $5B4, and $5B6...

$5b7 applies to 94-95 buicks and pontiacs with the l27...

iterestingly, it uses the PCM as the 95 Series 2, meaning it could be run as a $5B6 and would then be tuneable...

the 94-95 L67 also uses the same PCM, so if you either swap the motor, or stick a blower on the current one, then $5B code can be used.

those are the best options i can think of...

i've got a TXT document that lists everything that can be changed in 5B6... i looked around and couldn't any 5B6 BINs, so somehow i need to get my hands on a PROM from a 95 L36 to pull the BIN off..."

Apparently the 5B6 BIN can only be found on the 95 L36 PROM. The reason this would work is because my 95 L27 uses the same PCM as the 95 L36, so it can be tuned.

Should this be moved to a different section?

The PCM in 94 and 95 are the same. The proms are probably the same as well. If you can't locate one in a JY, check wtih Ryan at GMTuners.

You have a spare 95 PROM that was once in a OBD1.5 ECM that ran an L36?

Would you be willing to sell it?

PM me your address.

Bill, were looking at about 2" for a 95 PROM and about 3" for a 94 prom. HUGE difference.
