How far is far enough?
How far should I expect to be able to go on a full tank of gas? With all city driving and no hard accelerating, using regular unleaded gasonline, I'm averaging just over 400 km/250 miles per fill in my newly acquired '94 SSEi, which seems kinda low to me.
Would any 93-95 SSEi drivers mind posting their distance per tank figures? I'm trying to decide if I should take the car in for servicing, but as there are no other apparent problems with the engine or performance of the car, I'm hesitant to do so.
Thanks in advance!

As mentioned..you could be hindering performance and mileage by using a low octane fuel.
250 could be on target for strict city only driving though.
To be honest w/yourself.. you would need a highway tankful to know.
In the city you could spend 1/2 a tank idling at a stoplight...how can you count mileage on something like that?

Good points, all! I'm amazed at the "rapid response" . . . this forum kicks!
I noted the "Premium Unleaded Only" sticker the first time I fueled up. I asked my dad about it, since he owned the car since it was new. He said he had tried both premium and regular unleaded fuel over the years, and never detected a difference in economy or performance. Anyway, I've gotta fuel up again tomorrow, so I'll (a) use premium unleaded and (b) note how many litres/gallons go in. I'm not sure when I'll have an opportunity to blow a full tank on the highway, but that car'* so fun to drive, I'm sure I'll find an excuse!
So far nobody'* flagged my city-driving distance per tank as totally wonky, so I'll operate on the assumption that things are within normal parameters for now. Still, I'd love to hear what you day-to-day commuters are getting on average per tankful . . .

That sounds about right.
I get about 425 km per tankful with city only driving...14-15 L/100 km using 94 Octane.
Stop and go driving is very hard on mileage.
I have driven short distances in town, averaging 30 mph, using little or no throttle coasting a lot and not stopping at all and gotten 36 mpg.

I average 24 - 26 around town (if I keep my foot out of it, I do need to put some of these kids in their place from time to time) and 31 to 34 on the highway at 70 and the cruise control on.

See...City driving is so tough to calculate..
How to you calculate M/K per gallon/liter when you are sitting still.. ?
I went through about a 1/2 gallon in under a mile last evening.. like you said.. it'* a fun car!

I go about 280 miles in city driving conditions, then it takes between 15-16 gallons. The guage reads "e" and the check guages light is on.
I can go a hair over 400 miles highway conditions carrying just me. Again, it takes about 16 gallons.
Thanks,
NCC
