Default Engine swap

Hi all,

I am new here. I have a 95 Bonneville SE that was totalled during an accident in the snow here in NJ. I have the opportunity to purchase a 91 Buick Park Ave. for a real good price. I was wondering if it would be worth it to swap the Series II engine from my Bonneville into the Buick. Also, what would I have to swap over exactly? I tried doing a search of the forums, but I got way too many results. If this subject has been covered, I am sorry for bringing it up again. Maybe someone could post a link to a discussion of this sort.

Thanks

Have you seen the engine in the '95? Are you sure it'* a Series 2 engine?

You will have to swap out the entire wiring harness, tranny, PCM and the engine to do this. It has been done successfully many times. Go for it!!

Thanks for all the quick replies.

It'* not a problem doing the swap myself, but will it really be worth it? The drivetrain is perfectly fine in the Park Ave. I have looked around, but all I can find as far as info regarding the differences between the 2 motors is HP numbers.

Thanks again for all the help.

Series 2 engines have a better support network all together and you can get more products for the series 2 without having to go custom. You can do the same with a series1 but there is more custom building required.
