Default Engine knocking and then I scanned

I drove my daughters car today and I loved it. Had lots of power and transmission shifted great. It was a nice day here with temps in the mid 70'* so I had the windows down. Well I heard some engine knocking during acceleration I didn't like. It didn't seem to effect the performance though. I hook up scanner and notice some strange numbers. I have always got KS but no KR. I took it back on the road after I cleared codes and as usual no KR. Keep in mind CEL wasn't on. The knocking got worse when I got gas.

The two codes were:

P0406: Linear EGR Pintle position Error- I found through search and I'll take off and see if I can clean EGR first.

P0171: Fuel Trim sensor signal lean.- Couldn't find what it means

Other odd info: (I believe these had 0 values before)

RPM Failed 98

RPM Passes 255

MAP Failed 2

Like I said I cleared codes and drove for about 15 minutes driving up to 45 mph. Scanned again and got no codes. Any thoughts on where I should look?

P0171 is well documented by me.

Check for vacuum leaks and corrosion on/in the battery cables. The biggest cause is typically battery cables or a failing Evap system.
