Electronic Climate control / AC problems
I have a 99 SLE with electronic climate control. No matter what mode I use for the AC, whether it is windshield, vents, vents&floor, or floor only, the result is only the AC coming out on the windshield in the top of the dash board. The AC does not switch to the vents. Although the rear vent in the back for the rear passenger seats work, the front vents do not. Some help would be greatly appreciated, its hot in Florida!!! Need AC to work correctly!

You will want to check the purple hose under the dash on the passenger side to ensure vacuum is being supplied to the hvac programmer. The windshield and floor are the defaults for the system.
Although it was found that their are collapsing nipples in the programmer connector. This collapse causes vacuum not to be diverted through the programmer. The below is a great link to the fix

My 98 passed those tests. I checked to see if the vane for the dash vents was getting vacuum, it'* on the driver'* side and I don't recall the color vacuum tube to it.
I did the fix shown in the link I had posted on an earlier discussion where you cut out the plastic connector that goes soft. and directly connect the lines from inside the programmer to those outside the programmer. I used 1/8 inch gasline line pieces slipped over the outside of the vacuum tubes.
The programmer box has electrical connectors on the front, one small one on the top and a rod on the botton that snaps into a white plastic piece to a vane inside the heater box. And two screws. Easy out.
