Default um

I think he wants the little alloy piece that goes into the block. (should be located near oil filter)
your local napa store can tell you. And get you the part. they will probably have one in stock because its most likly the same on that as on all 3.8s of the same series

That GM part number will get you a big discount through www.gmpartsdirect.com and be a better and CHEAPER part than any auto parts store. And genuine AC Delco every time. NEVER buy a part from a local parts store first, unless it'* something you can't wait for.

SSEi95, Looks like you are having the same problem I have. Got my 92SE on 7-1-03.Noticed that when I started it the Check oil level came on for about 20 sec then went out.The dealer "claimed" they replaced the sending unit before I brought the car but the caution light is still coming on at various times. My oil level is full but am still getting the light.I am beginning to have my doubts that the sending unit was ever replaced. Guess I will have to take it to my Pontiac dealer to have it fixed.

Yea, I do get odd readings at times. Every now and then it needs a little oil too, but usually it drops a bit low at idle. Figured for a few bux see if it will help.

Really??? I thought he was looking for the Fuel Sender!
I work as a GM Partsman......So I think I know how to look up parts. Or have I been wasting my last 15 - 20 years kidding myself then?

According to my '92 SSEi shop manuals, there'* also an oil level module near the other modules inside the car below the glove box. I didn't see any description about what it does, though...

If you have a light, then you have one type of sensor. If you have a gauge, then you have the other type (which is probably what an SSEi has).
