Default Another day in Transmission land...

The stats:
1998 SSE, cold air intake, Random Tech 9000 series cat, advanced rockers.
The problem:
The transmission seems to have a problem first thing in the morning (when cold ONLY). I get to a stop light, I get green, I go and BAP BAP BAP! It feels like my old '68 Torino with it'* slipping clutch! I let off the gas and it goes away. I don't feel it again until I leave work 10 hours later. Same thing at that time. This doesn't happen any other time and it seems to be only when cold and on a slight incline.
This was happening when I first got the car and the dealer SUPPOSEDLY reprogrammed the trans (JOKE?). It did seems go away until the upper plenum self-destructed and the car was disconnected from the battery for over 2 weeks. My limited knowledge of the electronics in this cars tells me that the PCM chip is a non-volitile ROM that shouldn't lose it'* memory when disconnected, even for an extended period of time.
I recently did a fluid/filter change using Havoline'* new 75,000 mile plus Dex III. This was happening before the change and has not got better or worse after the change. Any suggestions? Comments? Snide remarks?

Any wear material in the pan? Any metal bits at all ? Any burned fluid ?

There was no wear in the pan and no metal shavings. There was some sludge, but with 82,000m on the car, it looked normal. The fluid was discolored, but not too bad. That was the only thing that bothered me. I did hook up a code scanner just in the off chance that something was stored (yes, I spent the $200 for it, it'* worth it!) and I got nothing.
It hasn't got any worse, so here'* what I'm going to do and I'll get back to ya'll on it:

Thrasher/TransGo 4T65E Shift Kit
MotorSports Performance Competition 4T65E Transmission Pan

We'll see what kind of difference these make in a couple of weeks. I think that the increased pressure will stop the clutch from slipping when it'* cold, but I'm not a tranny guy. I try to stick to the engines, myself!
