Default fuel gauge

Hey my fuel gauge is starting to float. Does anyone know what could be the cause of this.

The most likely culprit is a failing fuel sender unit. You didn't say which year Bonnie you have, but on 2000-2005 it'* only a step above trivial.

Put that into your signature. It helps us out in the future. Regardless, prior to 2000, it'* a more involved job. You may have to drop the fuel tank, as the pump and sender are inside.

This is just coming off the top of my head. The senior members will be here shortly.

Define float? When you step on the gas, does the gauge move towards full? Hit the brakes, gauge goes empty?

Or does it go all over the place with little movement of the car?
