Need help from exp. bonny owner
Hi, mark here. Please help. My 97 bonny SSE had a bad miss when I climbed hills. Autozone read o300 code and random missfire on computer. Changed TPS and found bad vacuum connecter at TB this I changed also. Now car willnot idle and smells like it is flooding. Cant live without my SSE(really only mode of transportation) Please help I really miss her. PS something broke the bottom off the MAF sensor, could this be part of problem? It wasn't broke before I changed TPS.

First, where are you located? Can you add that to your profile? Can you also add your car info to your signature?
After driving or idling, pull the vacuum line off the fuel pressure regulator on your fuel rail. If you smell fuel, replace the FPR.
Maf look like this?
It can be carefully repaired with JB Weld. Don't get any on the filaments.
Unplug the MAF. Does the car run better?

Well, I don't own an EXP Bonneville ( sorry, had to say it ) But I can try to help out here
I would definatly start with the broken MAF sensor. That is likely the cause of your problem, or a large part of it. What broke off of it, do you have a pic of it?
If the MAF is damaged, the PCM won't really know how much air is going into the engine and won't know how much fuel to give.
When was the last time you had a FULL tune up done on it?
If you can't remember, or don't know, I suggest the following also:
Plugs
Wires
Air filter
O2 sensor
PCV valve
Check for any more vacuum leaks, if you find any lines even beginning to crack, replace them.
Fuel filter
Also, check this out -- 95-03 Upper Intake Failure Information
We will get ya fixed up in no time

a broken MAF sensor will make your car run like A$$. Mine would run at low and idle speeds and then would shudder to death on the highway. I also had a very heaver fuel smell with a broken MAF. But listen to WREN and check the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regualtor..if that is bad then you can have BIG problems
my MAF looked like this
check out this linkfor more info on why you need to check that FPR!http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...&highlight=fpr

Hi,mark here. Looks just like your MAF picture. All this happened after I changed TPS. Is there a wrong way to change TPS? Will post all info asap on my 97 SSE. Thanks

i dont think that the 97 had an adjustble TPS so it only goes in one way..WILLWREN is that right? I think your problems are going to be from the broken MAF sensor. I dont know how much your delear quoted you but in Florida, i called around and got a consistent price of 320 dollars for the OEM part. I spent 180 something for a CARDDONE model including shipping. It might be worth attempting to repair it for that much...
Also the guts of the FPR are about 50 bucks but you need a set of snap ring pliars to do the swap...in case you are wondering where that is ...

No TPS after 92 was adjustable.
You CAN install it wrong. Make sure the lever arm is actually being pushed by the throttle shaft pin. If you get it on the wrong side, it won't work right.
